Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil made a triumphant return to the scoresheet when KRC Genk secured an away victory in the Jupiler Pro League on Sunday evening. Genk embarked on a journey to face Kortrijk on the twelfth matchday of the Belgian league.
In spite of failing to score in his previous three matches for the club across all competitions, Paintsil was granted a place in the starting lineup. His perseverance paid off when he netted the second goal in their 3-0 win. This goal followed Tolu Arokodare's opener for Genkies in the 56th minute of the match.
Paintsil's moment of glory lasted only three minutes after his goal, as he was substituted. Subsequently, Daniel Munoz sealed the victory for Genk. In the league, the Ghanaian has now notched up four goals and contributed three assists in 12 games for the club.
